Self-Inflicted Wound: Google’s Pro-Hamas Employees Wage Sit-In Until It Drops Business with Israel

Our Managing Editor, Jennifer Van Laar, alerted you to Google’s demonetization efforts toward RedState. As Van Laar wrote:

Why is Google flagging all these stories?
It’s doing it because each flagged article harms our domain score overall, which lowers our ad rates and leads to a lower quality of ads being shown on our site.
It’s doing it because we’re getting closer to the 2024 election and Google wants to make sure that outlets that practice real journalism are sent a big message: that any criticism of the integrity of the election will not be tolerated.
It’s doing it because it wants to send us a message that we’re not even safe behind the paywall – it’ll flag those articles, too, to punish us.

It appears Google’s targeting, intimidation, and demonetization tactics that they use against conservatives and conservative media are now being used against them. Google employees have shined a glaring light on the company’s billion-dollar contract with Israel to exploit the AI-driven Project Nimbus. These employees are demanding the project be shut down and that Google divest from business with Israel, or else.

What. A. Mess.

Google employees are actively occupying the California office of Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian and refusing to leave until the company stops doing business with Israel, video live-streamed by the employees shows.
In a Twitch livestream titled “notech4apartheid,” Google employees can be seen donning keffiyehs and sitting on the floor in his office. On the 10th floor in the New York City Google office, where a simultaneous anti-Israel rally took place, employees carried anti-Israel signs, and shouted chants asking Kurian, “How many kids did you kill today?”
The protests were announced in internal emails to employees that shared a list of demands, including that Google drop its $1.2 billion contract with Israel for Project Nimbus, a cloud-computing project of the Israeli government, and the Israeli Defense Forces that contracts Google and Amazon for various services.

That’s pretty damn ballsy. Not a Group Me or WhatsApp thread, but company email to plan this coup, which was also coordinated in San Francisco and Seattle. I once got fired for transmitting an off-color joke over company email.

Demands also include that Google cease all “business with the Israeli apartheid government and military,” stop the “harassment, intimidation, bullying, and silencing,” of Palestinian and Muslim employees, and address the “health and safety crisis” among workers who are rattled over their labor being used to “enable a genocide.”

No mention of Google being in bed with China and their treatment of Uyghurs. Like the company itself, these employees are selective in their outrage. Apparently, China’s genocide is irrelevant, but Israel’s genocide is beyond the pale. As of this writing, and according to the MPower Change X account, security had arrived at the New York office and was threatening to remove the protestors.

The organizing group, “No Tech for Apartheid,” has its own webpage with a live video feed and testimonials. Of course, the real puppet master behind these protests is the aforementioned MPower Change, a leftist Muslim group co-founded by the controversial antisemite Linda Sarsour and Jewish Voice for Peace, the Berkeley-based anti-Zionist organization that mounts boycott, divest, and sanction campaigns against Israel. Jewish Voice for Peace is heavily funded by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and George Soros’ Open Society Network.

The usual strange bedfellows render the usual destructive results.

Just like what happened this week with leftist Berkeley Law School dean Erwin Chemerinsky, where pro-Hamas protestors disrupted a student dinner at his home, Google is reaping what it gladly sowed, thinking that the fruit would sprout up elsewhere. Just like Chemerinsky, they assumed their training and tactics would never be turned against them.

They were wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time, and it won’t be the last. According to the live feed from No Tech Apartheid, security has removed and arrested the protestors.

We’ll await to see if their protest brought any meaningful change.

  1. I haven’t heard the name “so-sour” since 2017 and the woman’s March. The day all these weirded out people wore pink pussy cat hats and paraded them and their children down the street. That was another attempt to attack Trump. Sosaur is another one like AOC and Talib, implants to create chaos. The war between religion is impacting our nation, we respect religious beliefs but don’t hate/ kill because “ours” is the best/ right one. It’s time that they take their fight back where they came from or live peacefully with their fellow Americans.
