Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, said Monday that he had contracted COVID-19 for the 2nd time but is feeling good. The tech giant posted about his condition on Twitter and claimed that he wasn’t experiencing any symptoms.
“Covid-19, the virus of Theseus. How many gene mutations did it take before it wasn’t Covid-19? He wrote that he supposedly has it again (sigh), but with almost no symptoms.
Musk had previously tested positive for the virus back in November 2020, before vaccines were available. Musk stated that he had tested positive for the virus four times in a single day. Two of those tests were positive.
Musk has opposed vaccine mandates. He has also downplayed the pandemic in past. Musk was once in conflict with California officials over stay-at home orders.
He refused to close his Tesla factory and moved it to Austin, Texas.
After announcing a two-stage lockdown in Shanghai amid an increase in COVID-19 cases, the electric automaker suspended production at its Shanghai plant for four days.
Musk stated that he and all his children have been vaccinated as science has proven “unambiguous” in a December 2021 Time interview. However, he said he opposed mandates.
He stated, “I believe that we have to be vigilant for the erosion in freedom in America.”
