The American people have a real chance to help oppressed communist people taste freedom for the first time in many decades. For years Cuban dictators have lavished unspeakable horrors on their people. But now that the people are fighting back, there is a real chance for peace and freedom in a country controlled by hatred and selfish desires.
Joe Biden has to step up to the plate if he wants to do anything worthwhile as a president. Here is his chance to step out of party affiliations and act as the leader of a country that seeks to spread peace and freedom in all corners of the world. The truth will be told if Biden is smart enough to take the opportunity or ignorant enough to support an evil dictator like he endeavors to do in other parts of the world.
Senator Marco Rubio is one of many leaders calling on Biden to step up and do the right thing. The Cuban people are protesting the horrible conditions their current ruler has placed on them. Starvation and poor living conditions are just a few of the many realities that the Cuban people are forced to suffer.
Rubio is a Cuban by descent. His ties to the island run deep, and he would love to see the country his ancestors came from rising to be a free nation. And he has sent a letter to the president asking him to break away from the standard way of dealing with Cuba and support the movement that once defined America hundreds of years ago.
Rubio’s letter pointed out that the “Cuban dictatorship has rejected every effort that would allow the Cuban people to prosper, including your previous efforts as Vice President. Despite the Obama Administration’s efforts to engage with the regime, the dictatorship continues to restrict travel for political opponents, siphon off the salaries of Cubans employed at foreign firms and severely limit the economic freedom of its citizens to own property and start a business.”
The horrors of tyranny have rained long and hard in Cuba. The day’s issues predate the COVID-19 pandemic, which would never cause the generational hardships seen in modern-day Cuba. Only an evil dictatorship determined to oppress and destroy freedom could do what has been done.
Rubio was particular in his demands to the aged president. He helped Biden see several ways to support freedom without stepping in and actively attacking the regime. One of the best ways is to open the doors for Cubans to flee to American. This would allow the people to come to a place of safety. After all, the borders are wide open, so there should be nothing keeping the people from coming.
Rubio wanted the president to demand the regime to open up freedom of speech so people could tell their stories without being censored. Those that are responsible for the hurt should not be allowed into the United States.
And Rubio wanted the president to help vaccinate the people being kept from medical care. This would go a long way in international relations. But it all depends on whether Biden is smart enough to take on the challenge.
Ron DeSantis has come out and stated that “Florida supports the people of Cuba as they take to the streets against the tyrannical regime in Havana. The Cuban dictatorship has repressed the people of Cuba for decades & is now trying to silence those who have the courage to speak out against its disastrous policies.”
People can only be pushed so far before they are willing to fight back. The Cuban people are killing protestors for standing up for fundamental human rights.
Joe Biden has a choice. He can play either side with communism like he does when it comes to China. Or he can stand up for freedom and do the right thing that America has done for decades. The progressive party has already chosen their side because they love it when people are oppressed. It is the reality of the type of government that they want to press upon Americans.
