Sam Brinton, the flamboyantly non-binary former Biden official who made headlines last year, has accepted a sweetheart plea deal in the first criminal case brought against him.
Brinton was infamously busted for stealing multiple pieces of luggage from airports and then wearing the clothes around. Prior to being caught, he held the position of Assistant Secretary for Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition. Eventually, the Department of Energy relieved him of his duties, at which point the press chose to describe Brinton as “history-making.” You know, because stealing and wearing women’s clothing is apparently really ground-breaking stuff.
According to The New York Post, Brinton has taken a deal that will see him serve zero jail time. His charge was also downgraded from a felony to a misdemeanor.
The former Biden administration official accused in two separate stolen-luggage cases in different states was ordered to pay one of their victims back — but given no jail time — Tuesday after they pleaded no contest to the bizarre theft.
Samuel Brinton, who is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, was given a 180-day suspended jail sentence for lifting a woman’s suitcase from Las Vegas‘ Harry Reid International Airport in July 2022, according to court records obtained by Fox 5.
As part of the plea deal, Brinton was charged with a misdemeanor instead of a felony.
Keep in mind that Brinton also lied to the police when first questioned and only changed his story when presented with irrefutable evidence. That dishonesty and unwillingness to take responsibility apparently didn’t stop prosecutors from ensuring he wouldn’t have to spend a second behind bars. Instead, he will get 180 days of a suspended sentence while being kicked right back out into the general public.
For those unfamiliar with Brinton’s history, Jesse Watters delivered a report detailing some of his extremely odd and concerning behavior after the first charge of felony theft came down.
That’s who the Biden administration hired to handle the nation’s nuclear waste. Was Brinton hired for his incredible knowledge base and experience level? Of course, not. Rather, he was almost certainly hired because he checked an identity box that the administration wanted to have to brag about. That the press went right along with it instead of asking basic questions is just another indictment of the current state of journalism.
Regardless, it remains good to be a Democrat. Apparently, if you are one, and especially if you fill the position of a supposedly oppressed minority (i.e. a white guy who pretends to have no gender), you can commit felony theft and get a slap on the wrist. Do you suppose you could commit felony theft and not spend a day in jail? I sort of doubt it.
There is still another charge pending that could see Brinton do jail time. That would be the one where he stole the bag of a designer and got caught wearing her distinctive clothes because he posted it on social media. Whether the judge handling that case will be a little tougher has yet to be seen.
