Tiffany Cross, MSNBC’s host, urged progressives to get involved in Saturday’s “war” for survival. Cross was talking to Jasmine Crockett (Democrat State Representative) about Trump’s alleged election interference during Saturday’s MSNBC’s “The Cross Connection”. The duo then speculated on how to stop Republicans from objecting to future results.
“How can we, as a nation, protect democracy when these people don’t like what happens next? Jasmine, you’re running in Texas for Congress where this is a problem. They have partisan poll watchers. Texas is open-carry. Cross stated that it’s a fragile situation right now. What is your message to the people you are running for? What message do you have for our viewers today?
Crockett said that the media doesn’t talk enough about the “role that Black women have in democracy”, but that she will continue to fight for them in the ongoing war against those who are opposed to liberal views.
Crockett stated, “So there’s an even bigger story that I believe is brewing. That is that Black women have continuously fought for democracy at every level.” “And I believe that Black women will continue fighting for our democracy. That’s exactly what my plan is to do. I won’t give up. I am aware that I would not be here if it weren’t for the people who fought before and I will continue to fight. We can’t let up. We can’t stop fighting. This is a battle. This isn’t a war, and we will absolutely win this war.”
MSNBC’s host of “The Cross Connection” agreed that it was a “war” and went one step further.
It is indeed a war. Jasmine, I must admit that they have won some battles. But we need to remain focused on the war. Cross stated that everyone should pick up a gun and participate in the safety and long-term survival of the country.
Although she appeared to be metaphorically speaking, the language was striking in light of the ongoing media conversation on charged rhetoric in politics.
Cross has been a prominent voice on MSNBC and is known for being a liberal voice. He also recently called Republican members of Congress “White supremacists”.
