Kamala Harris held an event with Beyonce in Houston, Texas on Friday night, and they were doubtless hoping that they would get a lot of attention.
Instead, because of Joe Rogan’s interview with President Donald Trump, most people were talking about Harris’ opponents and listening to that three-hour podcast rather than paying any attention to anything Harris had to say. As a result, Trump managed to hold the news cycle yet again, talking about everything from Kamala, the border, and getting shot to UFOs and how alternative forms of energy can harm whales.
It was the kind of thing that’s much more revealing about a candidate and his thoughts than a limited debate. And the fact that Harris hasn’t been willing to put herself out that way says a lot – and none of it is good.
The interview has more than 9 million views at the time of this writing, that’s after just dropping late on Friday, about ten hours ago.
In addition, the Harris rally also turned out to not be what the attendees were expecting. I think they came out expecting a Beyonce concert in Beyonce’s hometown. But instead what they got was her saying a few words for Harris, and then not even performing.
That had to feel like a huge bait and switch and I have to wonder if it might tick people off.
But hey, Kamala got people out to make it look like she could draw a crowd (even though it was Beyonce). That’s a bit like her whole campaign, promising something, but then over the past four years has delivered nothing but a mess, particularly with inflation and the border.
Beyonce said it was “It’s time for America to sing a new song” by electing Harris.
And how is this a new song, if Harris has been in office for four years? They keep trying this dance but it’s not working because why would you want to continue what has been such a mess? Time to “sing a new song” sounds like she should be endorsing Trump.
It’s not a good look when there’s such intense booing at your own rally.
The people behind her have to start chanting, “Kamala, Kamala!” However, it doesn’t drown out the boos.
It was basically a lot of abortion talk. But she was heckled repeatedly by protesters, at least some of them were about Gaza, and you could barely even hear what she had to say. Of course, you’re not missing much if you miss what she has to say.
She couldn’t even control her own rally. She’s even plagiarizing herself, using the line about “smaller rally down the street” that she used on the students who shouted “Jesus is Lord.” That didn’t go over very well with a lot of offended Christians.
