In documents obtained from a whistleblower, Walt Disney Co. is reportedly promoting the Critical Race Theory curriculum to their employees. It was related to Disney’s diversity and inclusion program, otherwise known as “Reimagine Tomorrow,” which tells employees that qualities such as “timeliness” and “comprehensiveness” help perpetuate a “white supremacy culture.” It is unclear whether or not the program is mandatory or optional for all Disney employees.
Disney starts off by encouraging workers to be allies to the cause and to “take ownership of educating yourself about structural anti-Black racism in the current and historical context. The list of resources includes an NPR podcast called “Why now, White people,” articles that examine White fragility, and an Implicit Bias Test. It adds that “If you are feeling confused, shocked, or have recently awakened to systemic racism, recognizes that this is probably not new to your Black/African American Colleagues.”
The curriculum includes a number of trainings that talk about the history of systemic racism and transphobia. It claims that White employees must work through “feelings of guilt, shame, and defensiveness” to better understand what is beneath them and what needs to be healed. Employees are asked to reflect on how their race gives them “access and advantages” over others and claim that everyone has a level of unconscious bias.
It includes another module called “What Can I Do About Racism?” which suggests that employees should reflect on America’s “racist infrastructure” and think about whether or not things would be different depending on their race. It asks you to reflect on your wealth, income, your treatment by the criminal justice system, employment options, access to housing, health care, political power, and education.
Disney also endorsed a “21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge” day where participants were told that they’d been raised in a society that “elevates White culture over others” and tells them to pivot from a White-dominated culture to “something different.” They even went so far as to justify the riots last summer as a “tipping point” of the heightened awareness of the movement.
Employees have complained about the training and modules, adding that many conservative and Christian employees are suppressed from expressing their views. They called Disney “ideologically one-sided” and said the company implements CRT training at a corporate level, including activities where employees fill out ‘White privilege’ checklists and minorities are segregated into affinity groups.
“Multiple Disney employees told me the political environment at the company has intensified in recent months. There are “almost daily memos, suggested readings, panels, and seminars that [are] all centered around antiracism,” said one employee.
The documents even tell employees that ideologies such as “All lives matter” and “I don’t see color” are harmful and hurtful to employees, claiming it erases the “real and specific ways” racial identities are affected.
Journalist Chris Rufo, who obtained the documents, told Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that people should reject these kinds of politics and the companies that are pushing them.
“The great irony of this is the people in charge of Disney are some of the richest and most powerful and privileged white males in the history of humanity, and they are pushing this divisive, critical race theory-based ideology as corporate dogma. The only end of this is division, self-hatred, and I think it should be very clear that Disney makes its money on Middle Americans who go to their theme parks and buy their content, and those people should know that this corporation, it hates you, it hates your culture, and it hates the color of your skin,” Rufo said.
Woke corporations are adopting business models that alienate half of their customers and assume that America was founded on discrimination. They talk about all of this “equity” but nothing changes in their prices. They simply adopt the “equity” term to be down with the people and drain their wallets every chance they get.
