LA Times in Mexico Interviews Illegals, Including One Who Says, ‘Trump Has a Big Mouth’

We’ve seen the masses of illegal aliens crossing the border, many of whom are not crossing for “asylum.” That is a feint. They are crossing illegally to get something they are unwilling to stand in line for. Others are just criminals crossing to commit crime here in America.

If they are crossing illegally, they are, regardless of intent, illegal aliens.

Bob Hoge wrote about this issue and noted that recovering stroke victim Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) was willing to go on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” but Harris was too afraid. There was a reason. Rogan would have wrecked her. Instead, Harris went on “Saturday Night Live” and performed for a cast of worshipers and an audience of clapping seals.

Fetterman and Rogan discussed a lot, but one issue that Democrats own is the southern border invasion. Bob noted

One of the most profound examples of this can be found at the southern border, which the Harris-Biden regime basically opened to all comers in their first week in office.
Rogan came down with some reality:

On Monday, the Los Angeles Times published an article that illustrates a problem created by Biden and Harris that Trump and Congress will be hard pressed to fix. The bottom line is a simple analogy. The border under Biden/Harris was a dam that they broke. Biden could have fixed the dam but chose not to. Harris could have advocated for more, but she has said she wouldn’t have done anything differently from Biden. Illegals swarmed toward the border, some carrying signs in support of sugar-daddy Biden.

Even after Biden changed the rules on asylum, they continued to come. Why? Because the dam is still broken. It will take time and a lot of effort to stop the flow.

The LA Times wrote

They said they were only vaguely aware of the U.S. presidential election — which was a just few days away — and their role in it.
I don’t know much about American politics,” said Santiago Marulanda, 38, who had traveled from Venezuela with with his wife and two children and hoped to make it to California. “Whoever wins, wins. But I know this: Whoever the victor, things won’t be easy for us as immigrants.”

Most of those quoted will not be stopped by Trump. Some have been returned to Mexico’s southern border by Mexican authorities, only to turn around and head back toward the US.

A guy named Kevin Ociel Canaca is from Honduras. He was returned to Honduras because he was in the US illegally, but he’s making his way back to Houston because that is where he was before being deported, noting, “Trump has a big mouth, but he doesn’t scare me.”

Canaco had been living and working in Houston until he was deported last year, leaving behind a son, now 3.

“If you’re a migrant, you’re going to suffer whoever is president,” Ociel said. “Even if you work hard, someone is going to want you kicked out of the country. That doesn’t stop us.”

29-year-old Venezuelan Yancarlis Caldera is traveling through Mexico with her “partner.” She is intent on reaching the U.S. — not just the U.S., but “Southern California.” She said she was concerned that, if Trump is elected, the CBP One app will be scrapped.

“What will we do if CPB One is gone?” asked Caldera, standing in front of her tent, which was covered with a black plastic tarp against the rain. “No one here is going back to Venezuela. There’s nothing for us there. We will get to the United States one way or another.”

Caldera left three children in her home country, so it seems there should be “something” in Venezuela for her to return to. Apparently not.

Another said that CBP One or no, they are coming.

“We’ve been waiting for months for an appointment through CBP One,” said Dinorah López Rojas, 25, who had traveled from Guatemala with her brother, husband an uncle. Appointment or not, all were determined to make it to the border and eventually Southern California.
“Yes, we’ve heard that there may be deportations after the elections in the United States,” she said. “But I’m not sure about the candidates. I just hope we don’t get sent back after risking so much.”

The border needs to be closed. The dam needs to be fixed. One can feel sorry for people who want to come here and, at the same time, know that the open border, the dam that Biden burst, must be fixed, and illegal immigration must be turned from a flood to a trickle, at best.
