Has there ever been a less relevant but more touted endorsement than Dick Cheney throwing his support behind Kamala Harris? As RedState reported on Friday, the former vice president and “Darth Vader” clone put out a statement claiming that Donald Trump is the most dangerous person to run for president in American history and thus, he must support the Democratic Party nominee.

In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.
As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Keep in mind that America has had politicians who started a bloody civil war and a president who threw an entire ethnicity of people into internment camps. Never mind the damage someone like Woodrow Wilson did to the country. No matter, though, according to the elder Cheney, Trump is the worst. Nothing can compare to the terror of his midnight Truth Social rants and penchant for playing golf.
It’s dumb, and I suspect Cheney knows it’s dumb. What may be dumber, though, are the reactions the announcement has received.
There’s something surreal about seeing the “Kamala’s Wins” account (which many suspect is run by the Harris campaign in some capacity) and MSNBC talking heads practically giddy at receiving the endorsement of…(checks notes)…Dick Cheney. Most of you are probably old enough to remember what Democrats thought of George W. Bush’s vice president. If you aren’t, here’s a refresher.
The charges of Cheney being a literal war criminal didn’t just stop on college campuses. Those were talking points that reached the top of the Democratic Party, including the likes of Nancy Pelosi. News outlets like NBC News suggested he could be criminally charged. Going back and reading the old headlines is an incredible ride.
That’s who Democrats are celebrating the endorsement of. The man they likened to Adolf Hitler and suggested should be tried by The Hague. It’s beyond parody, and it exposes the left as a total and complete void. There’s nothing there but the raw thirst for power. If they’ll ally with Richard Bruce Cheney to win the White House, there’s nothing they won’t do to ensure they win. That should give everyone pause.
I imagine Bush could follow, since he seems to be very close to another unelected democrat, who seems to hate this country.
