AOC and the Squad Deliver Some Astounding Takes on What It Means to Be Jewish and What a Ceasefire Is

The members of the Squad were out on Monday night at a rally for a ceasefire in Washington, D.C.

Of course, we know that the Squad is for a ceasefire. They’ve made some troubling remarks in the past. But the effort they are putting in to try to justify it takes some gall and was unintentionally funny. They essentially tried to attack Israel while wrapping themselves in “Jewishness” and tried to use that to help their position. They were at an event by the “Rabbis for Ceasefire.”

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) attacked Israel calling them “extremist” and accusing them of having committed “war crimes.” She was not satisfied with calls for “pauses” such as those from Joe Biden, she said there had to be a complete “end to the violence.” Translation? Israel can’t defend itself or eliminate the terrorists.

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) also attacked Israel, referring to it as a “fascist government.”

“Your courage is why I’m standing here calling for a ceasefire,” he told Tlaib.

“By me calling for a ceasefire with my colleagues and centering humanity, I am uplifting deeply what it actually means to be Jewish because I’m centering the way in which God wants us to live with each other,” Bowman claimed.

How is leaving the terrorists who killed 1400 people, kidnapped more than a couple of hundred people, and promised to keep trying to kill Jews “centering humanity.” And what gall to suggest that’s what it “means to be Jewish.” He not only would leave the terrorists in place who vow to kill Jews, but he would tell the Jewish people it’s the Jewish thing to do.

But he did note at least 26 rabbis in his district were buying his line of logic.

While Tlaib and Bowman were attacking Israel, Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) tried to claim it was a “smear” that they were anti-Israel. It was a bizarre claim, disproved at the same event.

You are labeled anti-Israel because your Squad group is anti-Israel.

But hey, at least she sat next to Jewish people wearing Jewish things.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) pointed to the Jews who were at the rally who were calling for a ceasefire. She then criticized Americans of faith who stood with Israel and were against a ceasefire, saying “You would assume if you are a religious leader, you are a faith leader, that your number one priority would be to look into your faith, into the teachings of your faith, and to say I oppose violence.”

How truly gross is that? You can only be faithful to your faith by calling for a ceasefire. So you Jews who aren’t calling for a ceasefire, you aren’t being good Jews. Forget about self-defense, you shouldn’t defend yourself, because that’s “violence.”

Then, finally, there’s Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to cap off the comments for the event by redefining what ceasefire means.

The value of human life is one of the most Jewish things in the world, she claimed. Is she arguing against abortions? But again arguing that Jews shouldn’t defend themselves from terrorists still swearing to kill them by saying that’s not Jewish is a gross take.

She patted herself on the back by saying how courageous they were to stand there. She repeated the death figures put out in Gaza by the Hamas-controlled health authority. She also spoke about the “1400 lives taken on October 7,” but didn’t say who took those lives.

One of the most offensive things she said was the “imperiling of hostages is the damage.” Wow. She’s blaming Israel for “imperiling the hostages.” Who took the hostages? Who started the war? Yikes.

One of the most offensive things she said was the “imperiling of hostages is the damage.” Wow. She’s blaming Israel for “imperiling the hostages.” Who took the hostages? Who started the war? You do not “protect the innocent” when you don’t take out the killers who did this. Indeed, you endanger others by allowing it to happen again.

AOC then tried to redefine what ceasefire meant and said they would demand more from Joe Biden.

She claimed there was no military option.

There was a ceasefire on October 6. Hamas broke it, as they have broken many others in the past, because of their desire to kill Jews. The only option to stop the violence is to stop where it is emanating from and that’s Hamas.
