As RedState reported Thursday, viewers were treated to a Jack Smith slobber fest courtesy of CBS News, which informed us during former President Donald Trump’s arraignment that Smith was “a man of a lot of grit and a lot of determination” because he ran triathlons and stuff.
“He was reportedly at one point hit when he was on his bike by a truck and 10 weeks later, he ran another triathlon. This is a man of a lot of grit and a lot of determination,” CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell gushed.
Between that and her colleague Robert Costa’s proclamation about how Smith’s “aggressive approach to his personal health and exercise correlates to how he approaches his persecution and his strategy,” we were being told that Smith would be difficult for Donald Trump‘s lawyers to defeat.
Not to be outdone in the #Journalisming department, NBC News senior White House correspondent Kelly O’Donnell (no relation) tweeted out a picture late Thursday afternoon of Trump’s plane (which some have nicknamed “Trump Force One”) sitting on the tarmac at Reagan National, waiting to taxi.
O’Donnell, who is now the president of the WH Correspondents’ Association, used the tweet to deliver the shocking news that what was happening in the photograph was a “clear sign” that Trump “is not president anymore” — because unlike the case with Air Force One, everyone else has to line up and wait to take off:

It didn’t take long for the dunking to begin in response.
“Modern journalism is more about political point-scoring than informing, which is why they have so much difficulty covering the Hunter Biden story competently,” one Twitter user astutely observed.
Another nicknamed her “Captain Obvious” for what was obviously a new role for her.
“In this new role, Kelly will swoop in with breaking reports to highlight the blatantly apparent, unmistakable, and glaringly evident news,” they wrote.
Relatedly, other things also confirm with us that Donald Trump is no longer president, like porous open borders with record breaking numbers of illegal immigrants flowing through, the uncertain economy, inflation, and rising interest rates, and the very real war on parents.
Oh, and did I mention China has grown more dominant under Joe Biden’s watch? Yeah, that, too.
As to what prompted Kelly O’Donnell to write her tweet, liberal bias is – well, the obvious answer, but perhaps it was also in response to comments from one of Trump’s attorneys, Alina Habba, saying Thursday that “I think that everybody was made aware that [Trump] lost the election but that doesn’t mean that that was the only advice he was given,” comments that were a possible preview of what may be part of his legal strategy in the 2020 election case.
Whatever the case was at the time, since then Trump has point blank said that he knows he “didn’t win the election,” and after Biden was inaugurated, Trump undoubtedly knew he was no longer president regardless of how he felt about how the election went down.
So O’Donnell’s tweet, while I’m sure it earned her some cool points from her colleagues in the left-wing media, was really unnecessary – not just because Trump is aware he’s not the president but also because it’s just a bad look for our supposedly intellectual betters in the mainstream press to continually take cheap shots at political figures they don’t like.
