The Texas Democrats abandoned their posts and their people because they did not want to witness the passing of a bill that would make voting in Texas more secure. The liberals need relaxed laws to get the votes they need to stay in power. Secure voting methods will not allow them to cheat and find votes to pad their count with.
But with their flight to Washington to protest the bill, they needed to vote no on it. Their flight out of dodge was a dirty method to keep Governor Greg Abbott from having a quorum. In essence, they kept a vote from taking place by running like chickens from the barn.
They refused to debate and deliberately disrupted a legal democratic process by running away from doing their jobs. And now that they have crowded themselves into a private plan, they are getting what they deserve—a hand-wrapped gift of COVID-19 to go along with the cowardly actions.
The cowardly Democrats stated, “In light of some positive COVID-19 tests over the weekend, the House Democratic Caucus has decided to go beyond CDC guidance and provide daily rapid tests for all Members and staff in Washington, D.C., for this week. As part of this precautionary testing, today two additional Members who were fully vaccinated tested positive. All of the HDC Members who tested positive are feeling good, with no symptoms or only mild symptoms.”
Had they just stayed in Texas, they would not have contracted the virus. But they were so determined to stiff-arm the Republicans that they were willing to risk it all by committing treasonous actions.
Governor Abbott noted that these people have turned their backs on the Texan people and have committed acts of illegal behavior. Any person who fled from their job because they refused to work would find out they were no longer employed in any other profession.
But the Democrats think they own the people and have a right to treat them however they want. They have lost the perspective that they work for the people. All they are supposed to do is represent their districts. But somewhere, they have bought into the notion that they are the ones in charge and can tell everyone what to go and do with themselves.
Harris also turned her back on democracy when she gave them all a high-five for leaving the state. Harris stated that “You are doing this in support and defense of some of our nation’s highest ideals.”
These words are nothing more than words of treason. They did not defend any one thing. The right thing would have been to stay and vote no and let the bill take the proper course. The ideals that they embraced were selfish and certainly not in the best interests of all the people.
The 50 people who packed the private jets should have been flown to prison to turn their backs on the people they are supposed to represent. They told the people by their actions that they are not important enough to represent. They told them that they will not fight for them but will run away to embrace selfish ideologies.
One report noted that they ran to keep “voter integrity laws, bills that would protect girls from having to compete against biological males in sports, fund arrests of illegal aliens, clampdown on abortion, and a crackdown on racist Critical Race Theory being taught in schools” from ever becoming law.
These 50 people gave up their homes and right to be free in Texas. Should they ever return to the state, they will be arrested, according to Governor Abbott. They will be taken to the state Capitol where they will be forced to do their jobs.
Abbott stated that “What the law is, it’s in the Constitution, and that is the house, the State House of Representatives who were here in the Capitol in Austin right now, they do have the ability to issue a call to have their fellow members who are not showing up to be arrested, but only so long as that arrest is made in the state of Texas.”
They can never return home. They will have to complete their jobs to return to everyday life in the state of Texas.
