As one of the few honest conservative voices in America and one who has a nationally known position, Fox News host Tucker Carlson has been made into a clear target for the political left in recent years. And although they have tried to get him kicked off the air or chased out of favor with the American people before, none of their plans seem to ever work.
Take their latest attempt to have him “canceled,” as is all the rage these days, for instance.
It began earlier in the month when Carlson spoke on Fox News Primetime about the possibility that the Democratic left could very well be using the border crisis to their advantage, if not wholly condoning it. Why? Well, according to Carlson, for the simple reason of gaining more votes for upcoming elections.
And his idea probably isn’t that far off base. After all, it’s a well-known fact that the Democratic Party tends to get more votes from minorities, and so presumably, all those illegally crossing the border, than the Republican Party does.
He said, “I know that the left and all the little gatekeepers on Twitter become literally hysterical if you use the term ‘replacement,’ if you suggest that the Democratic Party is trying to replace the current electorate, the voters now casting ballots, with new people, more obedient voters from the Third World. But they become hysterical because that’s what’s happening, actually. Let’s just say it: That’s true.”
However, Carlson made it clear that this was not a race problem but a voting rights one.
The problem is not that someone who is non-white might be able to vote in America. The problem, as Tucker says, is that someone who isn’t a citizen might be allowed to if the Democrats get their way.
And he’s most certainly correct. Allowing a non-citizen to vote on American leaders is a serious problem.
Of course, that’s not a viewpoint that the political left shares. And so, those on the left did what they always do: they turned Carlson’s words around and tried to get him fired for being “racist.”
Media Matter, a liberal organization claiming to be dedicated to “correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media, wasted little time in accusing Carlson of defending what is known as “white replacement theory.”
And shortly afterward, CEO and director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Jonathan Greenblatt, seconded this allegation.
He tweeted out, “replacement theory’ is a white supremacist tenet that the white race is in danger by a rising tide of non-whites. It is antisemitic, racist, and toxic. It has informed the ideology of mass shooters in El Paso, Christchurch, and Pittsburgh. Tucker must go.”
Now, to some degree, Greenblatt is correct. His description of white replacement theory as dangerous and racist is most definitely accurate, as it has been proven that it has fueled race-based shootings in the past.
But his claim that Carlson is somehow defending or perpetuating this is far from the truth.
And there are a total of 1,500 Jewish rabbis who will back this and Carlson’s words up.
Enter the Coalition for Jewish Values, who all those rabbis support, wrote a letter in response to the ADL’s demands for Carlson’s firing, saying that their characterization of him as a white supremacist is “grossly misplaced.”
The letter, which was shared with The Jerusalem Post, first blasted Greenblatt for allowing the ADL to “become markedly partisan under” his “leadership.” Then they went on to point out the complete hypocrisy of his accusations.
“Your organization published the guide, Naming the Hate, which features obscure neo-Nazis of the ‘alt-right,’ yet says nothing regarding far more dangerous, leftist adherents of radical Islam. The ADL has tirelessly endeavored to hide the truth readily known to most Jews in America: the overwhelming majority of antisemitic acts occur in Democrat-controlled cities and on college campuses dominated by progressive currents.”
And Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch agreed with such sentiments, noting that Carlson had done nothing wrong and had not even mentioned race.
According to the hill, Murdoch said, “A full review of the guest interview indicates that Mr. Carlson decried and rejected replacement theory. As Mr. Carlson himself stated during the guest interview: ‘White replacement theory? No, no, this is a voting rights question.’”
Furthermore, Murdoch made it clear that Fox would not be bowing to any demands for Carlson’s resignation, and neither would they allow the radical left to dictate how they run their network.
You’d think failure such as this, and this isn’t the first, would teach the radical left to think before pulling the racism card every time they don’t like something. Then again, the left isn’t exactly known to be rational, are they?
